Welcome to Combative Arts

Combative Arts is a Martial Arts training club based in Sunderland. We promote a holistic approach to the martial arts and offer a range of training programmes suitable for many varied tastes.

The main aims of the club are to promote a combination of Martial Arts. Initially the student will train on a three-month program covering kick boxing, wrestling and close-quarter combat.

After the initial three-month program the student can then choose from the following disciplines which they would like to study in greater depth - Sombo Wrestling, Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do & Wing Chun.

Ian Andrews is a US trained student of Patrick Strong who was, in turn, an original student of Bruce Lee. Ian is Europe's ONLY qualified instructor under Patrick Strong. He is also an apprentice instructor under Richard Bustillo. To his accolades, Ian is a teacher of Sombo and Kali / Escrima. With over 25 years experience in the Martial Arts.

Self Defense - Street based scenario training *

Monthly workshops - martial art / self defense training covering a different subject in detail each month. Takes place on the last Saturday of each month.

Ian is additionally available for Private tuition by appointment and for small group and seminar as well as the regular classes.
